A gift made with love

Amma

Everything I know about love, I learned from you

You are not just our mother — you are the place we go when the world is too loud, the voice that makes everything feel like it is going to be okay, the home we carry inside us wherever we go.

You taught me that the most beautiful thing a person can be is kind — and every day I watch you live that truth.

When I think of safety, I think of you — your voice at the door, your hands on my shoulders, your presence in the room.

You never asked for anything. You just gave — quietly, completely, with a grace I'm still learning how to carry.

Wherever I go in this world, no matter how far — I am always, always coming home to you.

For you, Amma

🌹 To Amma, with love

You were the first voice I ever heard and the one I still reach for when everything falls apart. There is no version of me that exists without you — without your patience, your sleepless nights, your hands that never stopped working for us.

I remember the way you smelled when you came home. The way you laughed when something really caught you — the kind that started in your chest and took over the whole room. The way you sat at the kitchen table late at night, quiet, thinking, still. You never needed to say how much you loved us. We could feel it in everything you did.

You gave up more than we will ever know. You kept whole worlds going with your hands and never once made it look like a sacrifice. That is the kind of love that doesn't announce itself — it just shows up, every morning, every evening, every time.

Thank you, Amma. Not just for raising us — but for showing us what it means to be a human being worth being. You are the best thing in our lives. That will never change.

Rahul & Priya

Every moment, you were there

🌸
You, on my first day of school
✈️
You waving goodbye at the airport
🎂
You, laughing at your own birthday
🌿
You in your garden, Sunday morning
🍲
You teaching me how to cook
🌙
You, still awake when I got home

The things only you do

01 🌙

The way you worry about us

Even when we're grown, even when we're far — you still call at odd hours just to make sure. That will never stop meaning everything.

02 🍲

Your cooking

No restaurant on earth will ever come close. Your rasam alone has healed more than medicine ever could.

03 🤲

Your quiet strength

You never complained. You just kept going — and in doing that, you showed us exactly how to do the same.

04 😂

Your laugh

The one that starts small and then takes over the whole room. We could find you anywhere just by the sound of it.

05 🙏

How you believed in us

Before we ever believed in ourselves. Your faith was the first thing that made us think maybe we actually could.

06 🌹

Your grace

The way you handle everything — quietly, with a dignity we have spent our whole lives trying to understand and to learn.

You were there for all of it

1998
You became a mother
You held us for the first time and the whole world rearranged itself around you.
2004
You let us go — and came with us
You left behind everything familiar so we could have something better. That was you.
2012
You cried at graduation
More than we did. Because you knew what it took to get there — better than anyone.
2020
You were our anchor
When everything felt uncertain, you were steady. You always are.
Today
You are still our everything
Still the first person we call. Still the best of everything we know.
💗
